a whole new world.
Carol became an NRA Certified Instructor in Pistol, Rifle, Personal
Protection in the Home, Refuse To Be A Victim, Chief Range Safety

State Rifle & Pistol Association; helping to educate other women

Carol and Patsy started Arizona Women’s Shooting Associates
in 2000 at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility, and have watched it grow
ever since. She feels that every woman should have the opportunities
to learn and become more confident and not depend on another for her
safety and her families. “If a woman can teach another woman
the importance of this sport, she will be empowered to pass this on
to her children, ensuring the future of the shooting sport…the
key is education."
"It is my strong conviction and commitment that keeps my
vision alive in AWSA. I am always looking for new ideas to improve
and expand my knowledge for the benefit of AWSA."

sports for many years.

which has broadened her horizons, and given her a deep appreciation
for the other techniques. "I am so fortunate to have my husband
Brian to encourage and support, but we shoot as a team." |
"The shooting sports have given me a confidence I never thought
I had. My personal goal would be to make women more aware of their
need for personal protection."
"The shooting sport itself relies on women whether they know
it or not. Without their support our youth have no future. It’s
time women understand their importance in supporting this sport."

"Continuing my firearm education with AWSA in 2017 I became an NRA Certified Instructor in several disciplines. I would also like to see more women build their knowledge and skill using firearms for personal protection and enjoy the sport of shooting".
